Description

Lighter Version

Use pre-fried onions and canned tomato sauce to save time. You can also use boneless chicken pieces for quicker cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1.2 kg chicken
  • 5 onions
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 3 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3/4 cup cream
  • 3 tsp dried fenugreek
  • 1 tsp garam masala

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot, fry onions until golden brown, and set aside
  2. Sauté garlic, add tomatoes, and cook until soft
  3. Add the fried onions, ginger, cumin, coriander, green chilies, turmeric, and red chili powder
  4. Add chicken and cook for 15 minutes
  5. Add yogurt, fenugreek, and cream
  6. Finish with garam masala and fenugreek leaves, and serve hot with naan or roti
